From the day of registration, Institute Novgorodstroyproekt JSC is closely connected with Arkhangelsk, since the core of the enterprise's team were the graduates of the Arkhangelsk State Technical University. Therefore, the enterprise knows first-hand about the issues of the city's transport infrastructure and is eager to work on its improvement. Currently the engineers of Institute Novgorodstroyproekt JSC are developing a project of Construction of the Multilevel Crossing at the Intersection of Smolny Buyan Street and Obvodny Canal Ave in the Municipal Unit City of Arkhangelsk.

The transport junction at the intersection of Smolny Buyan Street and Obvodny Canal Ave is located in the central part of Arkhangelsk near the right-bank Severodvinsk Bridge off-ramp. The beginning of the site in question is the end of the road overpass at the intersection of Smolny Buyan Street and Lomonosov Ave. The end of the site – junction of Timme Street to Smolny Buyan Street. There were 3 variants offered in the planning solutions, and as compared, the variant with the smallest volume of reconfiguration of utility systems, a smaller length of retaining structures and a smaller area of occupied land was adopted.

The future road preserves the existing junction of Rosa Shanina Street, crossing of the Obvodny Canal Ave and junction of Timme Street. As a part of the traffic intersection, an overpass at the intersection of Smolny Buyan Street (main urban artery with regulated traffic), Obvodny Canal Ave (main urban artery with regulated traffic) and Moskovsky Ave (main urban artery with regulated traffic) with off-ramps to Obvodny Canal Ave and Moskovsky Ave from the Severodvinsky Bridge and Timme St. The overpass is planned to be with two traffic lanes in each direction (3.5 m wide), with 1.0 m wide lane marking and 2.75 m wide median strip with a double-sided metal crash barrier. The lighting poles will be located on with the railings. Due to limited space environment (existing railway lines, densely built-up area), it is planned to build reinforced ground retaining structures where back slopes are fastened with concrete blocks – to reduce the object area and minimize the volume of utility systems reconfiguration. General improvement and landscaping solutions will also be provided.
